Alex Black

Biography

Alex Black is a self employed Road Transport Contractor. He has run his own business for over 30 years. Prior to that he spent 3 years with the National Coal Board and 5 years in the Merchant Navy. Alex was born in Edinburgh. He attended Portobello High School and later Stow College. He has 2 grown up sons and lives in Penicuick. Alex helps to run BMX club for kids and his hobbies include boating, fishing and flying.

Reasons for Supporting the New Party

I was disillusioned with all other parties after visiting MPs & MSPs with no positive responses despite putting practical propositions forward. I organised & took part in the fuel protest, and was surprised at the level of support from the public. This encouraged me to think that there was maybe a chance for people getting more democracy from the system that the New Party was proposing.
