Reasons for Supporting the New Party

Opening quotation markMike was an active member of the SDP from its formation, initially on the Barnet Committee and later as Chairman of the Hendon North Committee. He was interested in policies but did not seek elected office. He now believes that the time has come again for a new force in British politics, and that the New Party is the right vehicle for new policies that can take Britain forward into the new Millennium. Many parties have policies on energy and the environment that are not based on a good understanding of the technology, and Mike wants to play a key part in the development of policies in this area.Closing quotation mark
