Sir John Harvey-JonesWe are sad to learn of the death of Sir John Harvey-Jones at the age of 83. Sir John, a former chairman of ICI, became a household name in the 1980s as a television presenter as well as for his business activities.Sir John was also politically aware: a founder member of the SDP in the 1980s (despite a public image as the "acceptable face" of Thatcherite capitalism), he sent the New Party this message of support on our foundation which we continue to display on our website with pride.
