Situation vacant

After three years at the helm, we hear that Patrick Eston has stepped down from the leadership of Veritas.  His attempts to move his party forward have generally been frustrated, and clearly the sheer effort involved in flogging a dead horse for three years would take its toll on anyone.

Even so, these comments In his resignation letter are startling:
“I have come to the reluctant conclusion that the only way a new political party can move forward is for one person to have complete control and take all the decisions. However, I believe that members must have a say on whether that person stays as leader on a yearly basis. A sort of benevolent dictator that members can remove yearly if they so wish.”
Benvolent dictatorship from the party that always tells the truth?  Our advice: don't go there.
